HI FRIENDS! My companion breathed on me this week and I started feeling like a old sock full of beans rolling down the deck stairs.

So I forgot to tell you guys last week, I was on an exchange with this sister from New Caledonia... where is that you may ask yourself like i did... it's a small island in-between Fiji and Australia . SHE WAS SO CUTE! She's a temple square sister but they get to go "outbounds" for 3 months! Her name is sister Guidi and mother, I told her that you would go meet her on temple square with a treat! She has the cutest accent and I just kept filming her all day cause I loved it so much.

We were serving in Kelsie's old ward! and I weeded a prairie??? like what?? I never thought I would weed a prairie on my mission... and the lady was like, "you're pulling out the wrong things!" But the weeds she wanted me to pull were PRETTY! I WAS LIKE "DANNNGGG, can I use these for my bouquet for my wedding." But then I thought these are a lot like SIN. We have a lot of investigators who are just having fun and everything seems pretty but pretty soon those pretty weeds will take up your whole prairie and you'll have nothing but weeds or sin! Don't even know if that makes sense but it made sense in my head! 

Oh so this week for exercise I asked sister johnson if we could run to Denny's cause #dennys and it was just the greatest sunrise hike in the city... you could smell the bacon perfectly sizzling, the sun coming up behind the big Denny's sign, all the big humans heading that way and once we got in, all the early morning Denny's classics looked at us like we were about to kill their cat. I want to be a Denny's classic though! As they were walking out... "Bye Susan, see you tomorrow, bye Kenny, good luck at work! Don't forget your computer cord tomorrow!" I was like wait, I want you guys to know me! haha jk but it was a good time! 

I'm so sad Hermana Johnson is leaving! I'm going to miss her so much!!! I don't know the area at all so I'm super nervous to take over the area! This was the quickest transfer ever! It feels like it's been 5 days.... weird stuff weird stuff! Pray for me, I'm so nervous! I don't know how to get around in the city either! I swear they designed Houston after a corn maze! 

Oh also sorry this email is random and crazy but mom you wanted cristians info... he only speaks spanish.. he knows no english... he's fresh out of Nicaragua but KEV this is were you come in! will you call him or text him or anything and just see how he's doing??

Texas doesn't know what pioneer day is so we didn't celebrate that BUT is that the holiday we all pack into Brig's pool?? because I LOVE seeing every Wagstaff family member squished in there like a jar of pickles! I love you guys. Sounds like you all had fun weeks! I love you as many Wagstaff's you can fit in Brig's pool!!!

FAMILY!!!!!

HI GUYS! HOW ARE YOU ALL DOING? I LOVE WRITING IN ALL CAPS SOOO MUCH! 

SOOO- funny story! Right when I got into the ward all the members were giving me these compliments like, "Wow we love your hair, we've never seen that color before, very unique." Or "wow, grey hair? cute!" At first I thought they were just playing around with me but NOOOOOOO MY HAIR WAS LEGIT GREY! and it wasn't the kind of grey you get when you're old or stressed or just weird. It was only grey where my hair was really really blonde.... sooo you know me, I get to the bottom of things.... I love hacking, getting every last detail of everything. conversations, life hacks, you name it and I want to know! 

Long story short... I can't figure out how to work our shower so I basically get cooked every morning because it's so hot and I don't want to ask my companion because she already thinks I'm special. So when you have really really hot water mixed with this purple shampoo I'm using= PURPLE HAIR! Like when you wash a load of garments with a purple towel= purple garments.... don't worry I threw that shampoo away and bought white shampoo so my hair is back on game and ready to ROLL! ohh man I was thinking of throwing up a law suit or something but couldn't find the time to do it....

Oh my goodness but can I just tell you how much I love PEOPLE!!! I LOVE PEOPLE SO MUCH! on a scale from 1-10 I WOULD SAY ONE THOUSAND MILLION TRILLION FOUR HUNDRED SEVENTEEN- THATS HOW MUCH! I JUST LOVE HUMANS! THEY ARE SOOO WONDERFUL! 

We have this lady Marta. She is just a little gummy bear. Oh my heck I love her so so so much! She also reminds me of a witch from hocus pocus. She has a granddaughter Elsie who is like my best friend! She's 12 and just ya know eats cheetos right and left.  We taught them for like 2 weeks and she was so ready for baptism. She came to Christians and LOVED IT! Then last week she dropped us. She handed us the BOM and she's like I don't want this. Take it back. I found the truth. (like I said in past emails, Jehovah Witnesses are following us so I'm pretty sure they taught her) But I just kind of shoved in down into her couch cushion cause what's better support than the Book of Mormon? And Eslie was like yelling at her grandma, "Grandma no no don't do this! We want this." (seriously saddest moment on my mission) It could have been a way sad mormon movie. We gave her a break but we felt like we shouldn't give up on her. SHE'S DARLING! So last night we had an investigator devotional that President Hall was speaking at and you can only go if you have an investigator to go with. So of course everyone bails on us. Roxanne had work, Eric thinks he's sick (clearly not),  Anduray was drunk, Anna thinks you need to wash your clothes on Sunday nights, Christina who knows! We say a prayer that we just need ONE PERSON TO COME! It was already 6:40 last night and right after the prayer we are like LETS JUST GO TRY MARTA! We knock on her door and invite her to the meeting. We are like "it sorta starts like in 20 minutes, can you go right now?" And she goes and gets on her lick stick and we go!!!! In the meeting all these recent converts are giving testimonies and then Marta stands up and starts walking to the pulpit. I almost peed my pants I was so scared! so I jump up after her and herd the small gummy bear to sit down on the first pew. She leans over and she's like, "Do you want to go up there with me or should i just go alone." I explain that our President is going to speak and that she could share her testimony after she gets baptized. 

After the meeting our President talks to her and she's like, "these missionaries are my angels but look sir I don't want to be baptized till my birthday when i can "die" and come up a new person." COOLEST PRESIDENT HALL steps in and is like "well how about you look at is this way. Why don't you get baptized and on your birthday go do baptisms for your family in the temple." (she loves baptisms for the dead so she was crying and just so happy!) PRAY FOR THE CUTE LITTLE GUMMY BEAR PLEASE! she's so darling! and she smells like old cupboards. I love it!!! 

She always tells me she's trying to lose weight and we come over and she's like "WANNA DONUT?" I look in the box where there should be 24. I'm like "hmmmmm they are all gone!" She's like "Dang it, I did it again girls!"

July 13th

Family,

I'm so sorry this will be the lamest email of all time! We are going to this weird museum today and lets just say today was weird! Sorry for being negative last week! It's just so hard staying inside. We had to stay in this week... #mycompgotpneumonia! say what?! I'm learning to be a doctor!! I'm terrible at it! I'm like oh no you're coughing. uhhhh should I pat your back?? call me docta nats! 

We then tackled a lot of black mold at Claudia's house the hoarder lady. She's also a belly dancer... just found that out! She's nutso and I love her! Almost got her to come out to lunch with me and she's going to teach me how to belly dance.... we are tight now! Anywho, we took out her walls and sketchiest scavenger hunt I've ever been on! Cockroaches the size of Texas were coming out of the walls! So scary! but hey her walls are out!

Also, we went to the urgent care and didn't get back till 12:30am... that's a whole other story! So scary. I forgot to tell the car coordinator and say I was out driving at that time.... He called me so ticked! but I had the health lady of the mission with us SOOO I WASN'T SENT HOME! HIIP HIIIP HORRAY FOR ME!

The Jehovah Witness clan is following us. no joke... i'm ticked at them!

Well this week was GRRRREEEAAAATTTT! So we got our new mission president and I hadn't seen a picture of him or anything so when I saw this tall, lurpy, skinny, blonde guy walk through the door it was not what I expected. But the second he started talking it hit me- this was the EXACT mission president that I need! I could have been called to any mission in the world and it would have been the same work but this guy was SOOOO cool and exactly the president I need!!! They remind me a lot of the Dunns in some ways. And I think all the missionaries in South Africa probably felt the same way when the Dunns arrived. They are so cute, energetic, and we have so many of the same interests and he's just so fun! Their family likes boating, making movies of their family, their daughter is a cheerleader in Ogden and will be staying in Utah to finish her senior year. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! President Hall was like, "I want to look you all in the face and tell you I love you before we start so we go to the gym and we all get a chance to meet him. It gets to my turn and I feel like i'm walking through a wedding line or funeral line but he was soooo nice! He's like ,"Hello Hermana Wagstaff. I already stalked you on Facebook but where are you from again?" I'm like, "Guadalajara Mexico." and he grabs me by both shoulders and says, "You're the blondest Mexican I know!" 

Him and his wife are thee cutest couple I think I have ever seen! He could not stop hugging her and saying the cutest things about his wife! He was seriously obsessed with her! I want to be just like them! It was so cute! 

We got flooded in on Tuesday and couldn't leave the apartment.... ohhhh texas bless it's heart! 

OHHHH WE ALSO GOT TO DO SOMETHING SOOOO FUN! We volunteered at this church to hand out food to the homeless people. They lined up for blocks and blocks and blocks. and it felt like trick-or-treating. A little bit of a holiday mix up I'd say! I was in charge of putting the cabbage in their little baskets! At first it started out I could only put two in but you all know what happens at the end of Halloween night. You just start dumping candy in people's buckets because you have so much left over so those peeps at the end of the line will be eating cabbage for daaaayyyyssss! I think I gave one guy ten cabbage thingys whatever they are called heads? who knows. He could barely walk with them! I'm gonna be the best house to stop at on Halloween! 

The rest of the week not much happened... My comp is sick so we had to stay in all week. It was really rough BUT I had my patriotic blankey that kept me company and made everything better! I was trying to be as happy as bubble gum on the fourth of July because after all it was the fourth of july!! So I ate some bubble gum and I made my companion wear a bow! She said that was the first time she's ever worn one! How crazy is that? I found a bat under my bed (kinda scares me that I have that)! Our walls slowly turned a darker tan each time I stared at them. And oh man the Alma chapters have never gone by so quickly. I've also learned I'm a terrible doctor... that's why I am not going into that field (can't even tell the difference between advil and a skittle now that I can swallow them). When my comp said we could go out a bird pooped on her head, she fell in a hole, and almost got tackled by a drunk man! and I almost peed my pants. It was awesome!! 

As you can see we had a bit of a holiday mix up this week! With the halls coming in, trick-or-treaters, and the fourth of July dead bed! Needless to say, I love being a missionary! Everyday is an adventure! We talked to Christian's Bishop and the missionaries in New York- he's doing awesome!!! Makes me so happy!

Making History in Houston

WOLF PACK!

Oh my goodness gracious! i have so much i want to tell you! IT WAS THE BEST WEEK OF MY MISSION! June 24 2015 is now my favorite day in the world! 

June 24 2015 .....OK so Tuesday night Cristian had his interview and he PASSED! but he's like i'm moving thursday morning and that's set. He had the ticket and everything. So we call president and we explain to him the situation that he is moving to New York (he thought he was moving to New Jersey. He's from Nicaragua so i cut him some slack).  President was like get him baptized tomorrow before he leaves. soooooooo Tuesday night Hermana Johnson and I decide we will do EVERYTHING within our power to get him baptized Wednesday night. So we call him and say, "We actually can have your baptism tomorrow instead of thursday" and he was like, "I really want to but I'm so nervous and scared. I don't think i can do it." So i was like, "Cristian that is totally normal to feel that way. YOU ARE READY. Everyone is nervous but I promise you that when you come up out of the water tomorrow you will feel like a whole new person. You will be completely clean tomorrow from all of your sins." He didn't commit to it. My companion and I both felt really good about it so we went off faith! I have never had more faith in my life. I am terrible at having faith but now I can say when you want something to happen and you do everything in your power and let God do the rest- literally anything can happen!  My companion is working on being more bold because she is just so nice and I'm working on not being so bold.... (It's hard in spanish to be nice. 

I have like a whole different personality in Spanish. I'm quite a feisty person. WHO'D GUESS?) Anyway President told us to keep working with him. 

We then get invited to go to City Hall with the Mayor... It was sooooo sweet! I hate government things and I was reminded why when we were there... IT'S SO BORING! So many people trying to say intelligent things. But hey look up Houston city meeting cause they took tons of pics. I don't know why anyone would ever suffer through those city meetings just for fun. but it made it better because the Mayor looked like Cynthia Haller so it turned out ok. and get this SHE NAMED JUNE 24 IN HOUSTON NATIONAL MORMON HELPING HANDS DAY!!! wooootttt whhhaoaoooo say what??? We have a day in Houston from all the service we did! We've been working a lot in the hoarder house lately and it's just hilarious! She's starting to warm up to me. She's like, "Well you're just a little humorist aren't ya." I found some EVERCLEAR- i guess it's this really strong alcohol and i was like DANNNGGG CLAUDIA WHAT YOU DOIN LADY?? gettin drunk are ya?  don't worry she says she just feeds it to her orchids.  

Back to Cristian! I was like let's just plan the whole baptism and have faith the Lord will work on Cristian's heart. So that's exactly what we did. We had a member filling up the font and the relief society president bringing treats. So we call President and he's like Cristian is ready just have the Zone Leader preside the meeting. SOOOO we keep planning and we have members texting him all day words of encouragement. We made some cookies... and I pulled a dad and ate about four of them because I was so nervous all day.. but we continued in faith that the Lord would provide the rest. So we get to the church.... ( i sort of felt like i was planning a really important surprise party it was fun) we set up the treats. Sorry mom- it wasn't up to your standard. We didn't have chalk boards saying what was what but it looked good! The AP's sent out a text and the whole mission was praying for him! 

7 O'clock and we can't get a hold of him... I'M FREAKING OUT!!! everyone is here, the font is filled, the cookies the sandwiches people brought. THERE WERE SO MANY PEOPLE THERE! WE EVEN MADE PROGRAMS FOR HEAVENS SAKE! Me and my comp are in the back room praying out little heart out that he will come. I've never had so much faith in my life! 7:30 AND CRISTIAN SHOWS UP!!!! We are like, "How does your program look? do you like it?" and he said YES! HE WAS GETTING BAPTIZED! MOST MIRACLE BAPTISM EVER!!! IT WAS THE GREATEST THING EVER!!! He was nervous but afterwards he was like you were right, "I feel so content." The next morning he looks like a whole new man! i'm so happy for him!!! He's in New York and we have permission to talk to him! He contacted his bishop and he was so excited about him and Christian is so happy to have the family that this church provides anywhere you live. because all his fam lives in Nicaragua still! BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! NATIONAL MORMON DAY IN HOUSTON AND HIS BAPTISM! 

SORRY NOT MUCH TIME LEFT! I'm cooking here in Houston! Literally feels like Jer Spice has me locked inside one of his orange chicken boxes. WELL I LOVE YOU ALL SOOOO  MUCH! I LOVE THIS GOSPEL WITH ALL MY HEART!
