Miracles

Dearest Family,

There is always so much I want to share with you so I guess I will just share some of the small miracles that I saw this week...

1. We only have a certain amount of miles we can use each month and since we have had so many meetings we are just about out.. so LOTS of biking went down. So here I am just biking along and then my skirt gets caught in the wheel right as I'm going through an intersection. My bike comes to a complete stop and won't move and I'm like what the, I'm not even pushing the breaks. The light is about to turn green so I jump off and that's when I realize my skirt is so caught in the wheel. I couldn't get it out... I start running so I can get out of the way of oncoming traffic but I'm like running sideways. Sooooo awkward looking... all the cars were looking at me so weird!

2. We had enough miles to make it to church! And our investigator Jose Ponce came! woot woot!

3. I made it out of the Dog House alive... most disgusting experience... One of my fav members in our ward cleans houses so we were like, "Hermana Luna can we come with you?" She let us come but forgot to tell us that this dog basically owns the place. We walk in and first thing I think is. Is this the reptile exhibit at the zoo? Long story short the lady can't go up the stairs but her polar bear looking dog can (but for reals ask anyone who was with me.. this animal was bigger than a polar bear!) Anywho, the dog made it real clear this was his territory. There was an inch of white hair covering the carpet and so gross and hate to say it but dog poop grounded into all the carpet... so gross but I'M ALIVE AND WELL! Brady never go to this house... You would die!

4. We ended up teaching this lesson to two girls who are dating (I was real nervous). They were hilarious and were actually really interested. But while we were teaching, this lady walked by and said, "You need to go teach someone that actually needs Jesus." Then the girls I am teaching just yell to this lady, "Ya'll need Jesus!!" I got through that lesson. That was a miracle.

5. Jose P. is changing and it warms my heart!!! He is our investigator right now and I LOVE this man so much!!! He has come to church the last three times and this week he is NOT SMOKING!! whaaaooooo this is a huge step because last week he was smoking 15 a day. We gave this no smoking program and had to buy him 40 dollars of groceries so he better stop!! He has this friend Felipe who always comes and listens to us teach him. He is hilarious! He calls me his doll and he made me a necklace. I can never understand what he is saying so my companion will be like say yes say no. Then afterwards she's like, he asked if you had a boyfriend and you told him yes! He's like 72 and pretends like he's deaf anytime we ask him to pray or do anything spiritual. He's a hoot!  Jose use to get all embarrassed and just sit outside with his friends but now he runs to the side of the house so we can teach him. It's amazing! I wish you guys could meet him! We also really wanted him to be at members houses this week so he wouldn't have the temptation to smoke. The members planned something every night for him! Serious I can't get over this ward!

6. Menchies has the most beautiful flavors right now... yum yum everyone go! Toasted marshmallow and so many others! so good!

7. We got to go to the temple with our recent convert Jessenia. She was baptized right before I came and we got to do baptisms! It was the greatest experience ever! Especially because I printed off some family names for her to do so she was baptized for Evelyn Dansie and it was just AMAZING! BUT we had the craziest craziest storm I have ever been in in my life! We would have died on our bikes if it wasn't for our amazing members in the ward. Amanda picked us up and came to four lessons with us! She's amazing! We couldn't drive on the road and our power was out all night. It was so scary. The next morning was the day we were suppose to go to the temple but there was like a foot of water outside of Jessenia's trailer. No cars could get in to pick her up. Satan was trying to not let her go... but she's amazing and walked through the rain water with her baby to get to our car! She's incredible!
Outside Jessenia's house
8. Since we are girls... we locked our keys in the back of our car and the button to open the back decided to break soooo we of course pray and literally right when we look up from praying another investigator who fixes cars drives by. We stop him and he got our keys out! The lord is unreal! He sends people into our lives exactly when we need them!

Sorry this is so long! I have so many more to tell you but I'll tell you next week!! Love you all so much!

Big Willy and the Mormons

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE OUTFIT MOTHER! I WORE IT FOR EASTER SUNDAY!

Ok, all I'm gonna say is- if I were to live in a trailer home... grey double wide FOR SURE!  We have been teaching in some trailer homes so I've seen a lot and I know my stuff... you WILL want double wide for sure. You could do a cart wheel and everything in it.

MOM AND ADS.. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR YOUR PACKAGES! Those made my life! Rex's note was the greatest thing I've ever read... I was dying! Mom, that easter outfit though- wow you spoil me! I loved that so thank you so much! and KELS! Rhett's invite was absolutely DARLING. I would have been there!!!
So I was actually not in my area very much at all this week. Tuesday we had a Zone Blitz where all the missionaries in our zone go to one area and find as many people for those missionaries to teach as possible.  We found a bunch of people. There was this sheriff riding his bike behind us so I was like, "Hello sir, wanna join our bike gang" .... We'll just say he didn't want to... Our zone leader is so funny though. He gives us a code word and we have to use it. Tuesday was "cowboy." I'm so good at that game... I can direct any conversation towards a cowboy. We had a blast talking to everyone and anyone.
Friday, I was on an exchange in Victoria. We taught this AMAZING lady! She had requested a bible online and those people that request things online are GOLDEN because they are just ready. She was so cool and accepted baptism. I'm way happy for her!
Saturday was seriously the funniest day ever! I was on an exchange in bay city aka dirty bay. The missionaries house there is this members pool house and it is the sickest apartment ever! The missionary I was with was HILARIOUS! I was kinda scared of her though. Right when I got there she's like, "ok we wake up at 5:30 to go run ten miles..." I'm like shiiizzzzzz, I can barely run a mile. She hands me a flashlight and just says, "you can run as fast as you want I'll just keep going back and forth." So here I am on this tiny country road in the dirty bay... I've got cow fields on one side and a forest and train tracks on the other... I'm basically just praying my guts out right now because 1. I'm deathly afraid of the dark 2. I feel like I'm the star in Jack Bauer's movie right now 3. Who knows what is gonna pop out at me... (guys also note: I've never really been in the basement by myself past five o'clock) the next thing I know this freakin' texas surprise jumps out of the bushes...I have no idea what it was but I got on the ground so fast... then I just had to act like nothing happened when the sister came running by me again...
The next scary thing that happened in dirty bay was Big Willy and Douglas... soooo I'm biking just ya know minding my own business. I blink my eyes and Big Willy and Douglas wanna have some fun.. so they stop me and they are like, "Hey little princess, are you Mormon?" (I'm like- pineview man with the tube was 10 times scarier. I got this.) so I'm like, "oh you know it" and then he pulls out this knife. He says, "you know you in da wrong hood girl. You gonna get killed. I've got a gun inside if you need it." WHOA HE DIDNT KILL ME! We left things with just a small handshake and I told Big Willy to watch my back. They are my great friends!
My companion also left me in charge of the phone this week... I HATE THAT JOB! These people talk so fast I can't understand them on the phone! So she's trying to make me learn and literally won't help me. It's so scary! We get a phone call yesterday and I'm like-ahhhh no. So this sister in the ward is just going off and I didn't catch a single word... if these people aren't talking about the gospel I don't know what they are saying. So after she gets done talking, I'm like scream yelling at my companion who is in the bathroom, "HELP ME HELP ME!!" then when she came out I just throw her the phone and locked myself in the bathroom... now anytime the phone rings I book it to the bathroom... hopefully that doesn't become a habit! haha
Well I love you all so so so much!!! and Happy Birthday Rachel and Luke! I love you guys so much!
have the best week family!
love your girl,

A MURDERER, CARROT KING, AND SO MANY NORWEGIANS!!

sooooooo GET THIS!!! Right when I got here my companion was like, "do you know whats crazy is that I saw your picture a couple months ago and knew we would be companions!" sooo then it turned out when we were doing family history that grandma Lucille is siblings to her great grandpa Clarence! We have the same great great grandma Mime! CRAZY RIGHT?! It's been sooo fun because she brought all these pictures of our great great grandma and all these stories! so cool right!!!?  I loved Rachel's advice that night at DQ she said. "you will feel the support of your family that has passed on!" We truly have an army behind us because we have the same family!!! It's incredible we were put together for a reason! and we have already seen MIRACLES! We decorated the whole apartment with Norway things! It's so fun! My comp was very serious when I got here but now she's lightened and we are having so much fun!!! and still being serious. It's awesome!! Also in family history I found out we have a MURDERER, A CARROT KING, AND SO MANY NORWEGIANS!!

So we had a miracle week!! My comp is the sister training leader so we had to go to so many meetings this week... we had to wake up so early and drive to Victoria which is like three hours away... I had to drive so she could plan her lesson... it was like a road trip to the ranch! For some reason anytimeI wake up early I feel like I'm waking up for Millhollow... why?! I don't know, that was like 5th grade! and yes we are a driving/ biking area.. we only have a certain amount of miles we can use a month, then we have to bike... dad why did you get me the bike with training wheels, an inflatable tube on the back, and streamers?? That's so embarrassing lol!! haha that would have been hilarious!

Anyway, this was such an awesome week!! Seriously so great! I extended my first invitation to be baptized!! And she actually said yes?!? Who knew?! Her name is Ines. Please pray for her! Also, we invited two other people this week and they said YES too!!! They are both named Jose. Just about everyone here is. We had three people come to conference!! It was the greatest thing ever! I didn't understand much but they sure did! And I'm just so happy!

Oh also mom thank you so much for the blanket! Seriously saved my life here! They didn't have bedding after all so I went and got the cheapest sheets I could find at Walmart... they sort of feel like I'm sleeping in between traps! It's awesome! #camping #gowalmart!

I'm so grateful for you family!! ohh also I'm doing this thing where every time I read the book of mormon I read it a different way! It's amazing! This time around, I'm looking for all the promises and writing them down. Just Nephi alone is like three pages of promises from our Heavenly father! We truly are so blessed! I've been blessed with the most amazing family ever!

love you beyond words!!

Bluebell Pulls Through

Jesus gave us groceries!

HEY YA'LL!! HOW'S EVERBUDDY DOIN?!
I'm here in PEARLAND TEXAS! OR MANVEL or ahhh who knows where I am, but I'm having a freakin' good time! I LOVE TEXAS!!! I LOVE THE PEOPLE, THE FRESH SMELL EVERY MORNING, THE ENDLESS FIELDS OF GRASS!  It's crazy it's actually happening... and change is actually really hard for me. I feel like I was just finally comfortable at the MTC, my district finally let me play steal the flag and now I have to start all over but it's awesome. That's why I'm here!

My companion is Hermana Smith from Ohio... such a sweet AMAZING trainer!!! like I love her so much! She is the most obedient thing and I'm learning so much! We live in the NICEST apartments ever! like ever! they are so nice. But we have no food so that's the reason bluebell pulls through cause that's all we had to eat this week! We accidentally put our cheese in the cereal cupboard so it's a goner.. haha. There is this man named Jesus ohhhh man, if HR was Mexican and maybe just a tad sweeter he would be Jesus! He fed us this week and bought us so many groceries. It was such a blessing!!

The ward I am serving in is AMAZING! Literally the best people ever! Walking in, you'd think they were the group that snuck up on us at Pineview, but they have hearts as big as Texas! We had a ward Easter party and they have these easter eggs filled with confetti. It was the most incredible thing! They just straight up smash them on people heads. I think every single person took a wack at my head and yells, "WELCOME TO HOUSON!" It was a really warm welcoming party! I love this ward. There are all these young women aged girls who have been coming out to teach lessons with us all week... it's amazing! We have taught some really great lessons and the Spanish is coming!!! The bishop made me say the opening prayer in church yesterday and I don't know why but I was sooo nervous! I have never said a prayer in church and I guess with the language barrier and all it's kinda scary but everyone told me my Spanish wasn't terrible!!! so that made me really happy! We have this investigator Jose and he is soooo great! He just needs to stop smoking so pray he does that! Yesterday we were trying to find him because he wasn't home. We were driving back to our house and we see him walking along the side of the street so we skirt to the side and start running after him... oh man if people only knew the things missionaries do... we are such eds! Two girls running down the highway- WE GUNNA GET YOU! We also have a lesson tonight that I'm pretty nervous about so please pray for me!! I love you!

I LOVE you guys with all my heart! We really have the most amazing family in the whoooollllleeeee world! I love you guys so much! ohhh please write me letters!!
