Dearest Family,
There is always so much I want to share with you so I guess I will just share some of the small miracles that I saw this week...
1. We only have a certain amount of miles we can use each month and since we have had so many meetings we are just about out.. so LOTS of biking went down. So here I am just biking along and then my skirt gets caught in the wheel right as I'm going through an intersection. My bike comes to a complete stop and won't move and I'm like what the, I'm not even pushing the breaks. The light is about to turn green so I jump off and that's when I realize my skirt is so caught in the wheel. I couldn't get it out... I start running so I can get out of the way of oncoming traffic but I'm like running sideways. Sooooo awkward looking... all the cars were looking at me so weird!
2. We had enough miles to make it to church! And our investigator Jose Ponce came! woot woot!
3. I made it out of the Dog House alive... most disgusting experience... One of my fav members in our ward cleans houses so we were like, "Hermana Luna can we come with you?" She let us come but forgot to tell us that this dog basically owns the place. We walk in and first thing I think is. Is this the reptile exhibit at the zoo? Long story short the lady can't go up the stairs but her polar bear looking dog can (but for reals ask anyone who was with me.. this animal was bigger than a polar bear!) Anywho, the dog made it real clear this was his territory. There was an inch of white hair covering the carpet and so gross and hate to say it but dog poop grounded into all the carpet... so gross but I'M ALIVE AND WELL! Brady never go to this house... You would die!
4. We ended up teaching this lesson to two girls who are dating (I was real nervous). They were hilarious and were actually really interested. But while we were teaching, this lady walked by and said, "You need to go teach someone that actually needs Jesus." Then the girls I am teaching just yell to this lady, "Ya'll need Jesus!!" I got through that lesson. That was a miracle.
5. Jose P. is changing and it warms my heart!!! He is our investigator right now and I LOVE this man so much!!! He has come to church the last three times and this week he is NOT SMOKING!! whaaaooooo this is a huge step because last week he was smoking 15 a day. We gave this no smoking program and had to buy him 40 dollars of groceries so he better stop!! He has this friend Felipe who always comes and listens to us teach him. He is hilarious! He calls me his doll and he made me a necklace. I can never understand what he is saying so my companion will be like say yes say no. Then afterwards she's like, he asked if you had a boyfriend and you told him yes! He's like 72 and pretends like he's deaf anytime we ask him to pray or do anything spiritual. He's a hoot! Jose use to get all embarrassed and just sit outside with his friends but now he runs to the side of the house so we can teach him. It's amazing! I wish you guys could meet him! We also really wanted him to be at members houses this week so he wouldn't have the temptation to smoke. The members planned something every night for him! Serious I can't get over this ward!
6. Menchies has the most beautiful flavors right now... yum yum everyone go! Toasted marshmallow and so many others! so good!
7. We got to go to the temple with our recent convert Jessenia. She was baptized right before I came and we got to do baptisms! It was the greatest experience ever! Especially because I printed off some family names for her to do so she was baptized for Evelyn Dansie and it was just AMAZING! BUT we had the craziest craziest storm I have ever been in in my life! We would have died on our bikes if it wasn't for our amazing members in the ward. Amanda picked us up and came to four lessons with us! She's amazing! We couldn't drive on the road and our power was out all night. It was so scary. The next morning was the day we were suppose to go to the temple but there was like a foot of water outside of Jessenia's trailer. No cars could get in to pick her up. Satan was trying to not let her go... but she's amazing and walked through the rain water with her baby to get to our car! She's incredible!
Outside Jessenia's house
8. Since we are girls... we locked our keys in the back of our car and the button to open the back decided to break soooo we of course pray and literally right when we look up from praying another investigator who fixes cars drives by. We stop him and he got our keys out! The lord is unreal! He sends people into our lives exactly when we need them!
Sorry this is so long! I have so many more to tell you but I'll tell you next week!! Love you all so much!
love Natsy catsy wagstaff
