HELLO HOLLADAY!
Wow these Texans are just killing me! This morning we got to the library at 11 because that's when it opens and I kid you not it looked like black friday out here. The awesome librarian comes walking with her keys over her shoulder like she's the bees knees and everyone is just inching towards the doors casually about to bust in the doors to get a computer! Made me laugh so hard! I'm like come on guys, just a monday morning. everything is gunna be alright!
Well I also got the bestest other surprise in the world.... Just casually teaching an english class thursday night after we say the closing prayer and by golly this man poking his head in the door was a cutie and looked just like my brother! AND IT WAS!!!! Ronnie found me and made my whole entire life! It was so happy to see him! oh how I love you my family!
On friday, Hna. Palmer calls me and is like, "HERMANA! VICTOR IS GETTING BAPTIZED!" Hna. Palmer and I found Victor doing his laundry one day and he was amazing! He came to church every single week and would even drive our less actives! He is the most humble worker I've ever met. He works sooo hard just to send backpacks and money over to his daughter and wife in El. Salvador. But hermana Palmer says, "You better be there on Saturday because your on the program to speak about baptism." And it was just the most beautiful baptism ever! The man that baptized him has been helping him find a job in the employment center. After he baptized him he just started bawling and took Victor into the biggest bear hug! AHHH GUYS. LIFE IS SO BEAUTIFUL IN THE GOSPEL! Just gets me every time!
We got this new investigator Eddie.... ohhhh old man Eddie. He is as white as a fresh baby albino bunny but speaks perfect spanish. He is literally HR in the living flesh. Never takes off his black down comforter coat and just always has a pepsi in hand. He is so funny! He's been to our church a whole bunch back in some other state but talking to him on the phone is very similar to talking to Thair. SO DIFFICULT! I call him the other day.. this is how the conversation went...
"Hello Eddie this is the sister missionaries. We were wondering if we could come by."
"You what?? You got bit by a snake?? are you ok??"
"NOoo Nooo Eddie no this is the HERMANAS. The church girls! can we come visit you today?"
"I just won a new car!"
"wow Eddie that's amazing! Have you read the pamphlet we left you?"
"It's America!"
"haha your right."
"Back in Nom......" "Back when i was in the Vietnam war...." "back in Nom...."
just starts going off about stories from "Back in Nom" ahh he is so funny!
Diana and Bryan are doing awesome! We taught her the word of wisdom and she's like, "ahh noo coffee really? I love coffee." so we taught her about the blessing and invited her to live the word of wisdom and she said SHE WOULD! WHOOOOO! but that coffee will be really hard for her. (there is this thing called Pero which is to help people to stop drinking coffee. very similar to it but not the same.) so i was like ok tomorrow we are going to bring you Pero which will help you stop. And Pero in spanish is dog. So she was like i just don't think that will help me. I mean I've had one before and it didn't help me stop drinking coffee the first time so it wont work now. and plus I HATE DOGS. hahahahahhahahhaahha i was dying almost peed my pants. SHE THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO BUY HER A PUPPY TO HELP HER STOP DRINKING COFFEE! HAHAHAHHA I haven't seen a dog with powers like that since the days with Coal. I mean I could get a hold of Gypsie and Isaac if necessary but we will see how she does this week!
Well fam I just absolutely love love love being a missionary! I never want to come home! I seriously just am so grateful for everything I have learned and am learning and the people I've met! TEXAS IS AMAZING!!!! who knew you could love people, a place, the traffic, the strange meats, the weird smells, the crazy humans, the shopping carts, the creepster maintenance people, the frozen pools that look like they have crusty chunks of celery, the bayou, the stray animals that nip at your toes, the 50 cent car washes, waking up at 6, Hno. Villas that wants to come out with the missionary so bad but doesn't have a car so runs beside our bicycles at the speed of lightning in the wagstaff crane shirt I gave him seconds before, and the amazing gospel I get the privilege to bring to these Texan hearts while the spirit does the real work and brings it on home to them. There is just too much to love. It's hard to go to bed at night because my heart is just so full (maybe of skittles but mainly love) THIS WORK IS INCREDIBLE! I'M JUST SO HAPPY AND I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH! Thank you for being my bestest family ever!
love you too darn much!
hermana tony malony wagstaff
P.s. one of the new missionarys looks exactly like samatha weed and i went on exchange with her this week and kept getting so scared! i thought it was her.. but nope! She is Mindy's twin. Doing all these dress sketches and designs and she was going through my clothes she's like, "oh that neck line." I was like who is this chick?? definitely a fashion designer trying to live her life in mission clothes. But she did ballet so we had a heck of a time doing ballet for work out in the morning! bring back mrs. Orlop! over and out!
Hno. Villas LOVED the waggy crane shirt. thanks ron! he's determined to come work there one day! He's also trying to get me to marry his brother in Mexico. He's like he's not a member but you could make him one. What do you say? Come on he needs a wife like you! I'm like when he's like Moroni in the bom then i will marry him... haha he said that will be in 20 years
when car parts just fall off of cars in the middle of the road and since we are on bikes we have to run them to the. #texas #citylife
