Hey everyone! Just me here in Houston Texas reporting like from Fondren Drive. Beautiful blue skies rollin in. Not sure if we'll be seeing a storm but hey whens the last time I checked the weather? 11 MONTHS AGO! I HATE HOW FAST THIS IS GOING. 11 MONTHS NOOOO! Texas plays lots of little trickster tricksters and this is one of them. IT'S ACTUALLY FREEZING OUT THERE! and the heaters broken. We've had maintenance come fix it at least 7 times because it feels exactly like the downstairs storage room a.k.a mindy and bradys house status. 50 degrees. But I don't know if it's the language barrier or what between me and the maintenance guy but the heat still won't work! might also be the fact that we can't be inside alone with a man without another women so whenever he comes in I pretend that I have something to go get in the car. But needless to say we are healthy and happy and it is just a beautiful day here in Houston Texas. (I really am thinking about working for South West after the mish)
We are staying together another transfer!!! so crazy how fast that one just went. I only have 4 more transfers ahhhhhhh nooo I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY! President Hall said he would keep me forever. Is that ok?? I love sister hall! I really bonded with her this week. Monday my comp was playing basketball at the church and you know how good my b-ball skills are. Bout as good as a big pot of meatloaf. (pretty sure i got kicked off the ward b-ball team cause I'm so bad) So Sister Hall and I just sat and talked for 2 hours about everything. And we are so similar! We both hate porta potties, talking in front of the big MLC meetings, both of us do weird little cheerleader things that just sneak out of us when we are excited like a quick high V (she did that is the last mlc mtg made me so proud of her) and then she was telling me about her dad's heart disease... didn't really relate to that one but hey good to learn! Then she came and had comp study with us on Friday she is just so much fun! I love the Halls!
This week was amazing! went on an exchange to the english area.... I first asked the cutest sister if there was anything i could help her increase her faith on. Such as working with members, faith in yourself, or finding new investigators and she asked me to help her increase her faith on finding new people. So the whole day I was just praying so hard to find people and Heavenly Father is just soo sooo good! Here's what happened... we passed Niko Niko's-shed a few tears for kels and mitch! Go to this member named Hannah that was DARLING! cutest apartment and child and everything. Fresh carpet... it was just weird! Hannah knew you kels and mitch! She said she was in your ward! she feed us so much american food. Grains and Quinoa and couscous and garbanzo beans and all the good things you'll never find in Joe V's, my hispanic Costco I love so much! We then talk ourselves downtown... into the ghetto! We have this appointment with this guy named Trevor and he said to meet him in the cafeteria. (what kinda apartment has a cafeteria these days.) So we sit down at this little table in this humunges cafeteria. Then i suddenly felt like I was one of those old sample ladies at Costco. Everyone was walking by... we had some lingerers, some double takers, some starers, some triple returners (the ones like dad that come back casually for 1,000 samples) and everyone saying, "what do we have here??" BAGELBITES. GET YOUR BEST BAGEL BITES! No I didn't even have a hair net on or creepy scissors to cut things. I told everyone that walked by, "WE are about to share a message about your savior Jesus Christ. You've got to sit down!" So by the end of everyone walking by and asking "What do we have here?" We had about five people circled around this cafeteria table. We start teaching the restoration and it was going really well till my favorite human ERIC walks in. Biggest ping pong sped you've ever seen.(we were sitting next to the ping pong table) He's got safety goggles on to play, he's waxing his paddles and then he see's us. and asked the same thing everyone else asked. "What do we have here?" so we grab him another chair and he is all in. He even invited his girlfriend over to come listen. He's like "MAN, THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN MY PING PONG GAME! I have been searching for how I can be born again." All of his comments were cracking me up. When I was explaining the priesthood I said the word Lineage. Erics like "YES! I love that word! You are so educated!" He loved everthing, asked how he could get baptized but would not accept Joseph Smith. He was like "all we need is Christ and you all worship him." So I was like what can I tell him to make him believe that he was a prophet and the spirit whispered to me, "tell him why he's important to you." I was like no that was a dumb thought! that will never get him to believe him. But I did and I start testifying. I said something like, "ya know we don't worship Joseph Smith at all. The reason I am grateful to him is because without him I wouldn't have the relationship I have with my father in Heaven. Because of Joseph Smith I know my Father loves me TODAY and that he will never change. Heavenly Father will never ever change. And we know that through Joseph Smith because God loved me enough to call another prophet and restore his church!" He looked at his ping pong paddles and around at all the people and said, "You are right. That makes so much sense. God does still love us! I can see it in your eyes and hear it in your voice that this is true!" YESSSSS Eric! yesss everyone this church is true! I love cafeterias in the bottom of creepy apartments. I'm coming back here everyday! SWEET DOGGY DOGG. I thought that I was going to increase her faith in finding but God increased mine!
I could not be happier serving the lord! ohhhh and the other happiest thing ever was that I went on exchange back to my HOMEEBASEEE H1 and we had dinner with Wilver and Lucy my favorite humans! They are planning a trip to come to Utah and visit me next December! I can't wait for you all to meet them!!! Life is soooo cute. so good! Better than a homemade cinnamon roll with triple the frosting!
