hair salon member. cut our hair a couple week back. this is her dying her hair... so talented!

HOW ARE YOU GUYS??? HAPPY P-DAY! First off, I have a question for you all.... WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND INVENTED TUNA AND TAMALES?? Disgusting I know!!! We just had lunch with a member in the back of her hair salon... (at least she didn't make me eat shampoo right) but TUNNNNNAAAAAA. You all know my feelings on tuna! I prayed to the heavens so hard that Heavenly Father would make it taste like chicken. But God and I have a funny relationship. He makes me laugh so hard! Instead of tasting like chicken it tasted like a small beached whale from the gulf of Galveston that the Varners have had in there wood shop for a good 40 years. I thought I was going to die. Luckily there was a toilet nearby and when she had to go back out and help with someones hair... I took that bad boy straight to the toilet! (that's the best option to get rid of food. No trace. No evidence. You are guilt free!)
WARD COUNCIL GOT CRAZY YESTERDAY! Bishop has been in El. Salvador for a good three weeks... it's about time to come home bishop. Planning a ward party without you is about like asking to put braces on Mindy! Scary! Everyone was getting so intense and so scary. No good ideas for the fourth or July party. Lots of comments like the following... "we can't do it at the church that's LAME!!!" "the kids hate when there are no activities." "I hate every idea you guys are saying." "what about water sports?" "who will provide all the food?" "i want a bounce house." "i want coke." "we want it low key but yet chic!"
GUYS- WHOOW WHOOW WHOOOW I'm so sorry I should have stopped you sooner. In the H25 we know how to throw a 4th of July party. All you gotta do is have the kids bring there bikes decorated and act like it's a parade. LOW KEY AND CHIC HNO. REYES. So who's in charge of the 4th of July parade?? THIS GIRL! I told them I would lead the parade with my bike decorated AND provide candy and music. So when Hno. Reyes stood up to announce it, "it will be a great activity ask the missionaries if you have any questions!" WHOOO I LOVE ME A GOOD PARTY. ESPECIALLY WHEN I AM IN CHARGE! I AM GOING ALL OUT! I am duck taping a boom box to my bike and MOTAB "this land is my land" will hit home. Throwing books of mormon and all sorts of candy to all families and investigators! whooooo soooooo stoked!!! (the elders aren't excited that I signed them up for team leaders as well. They don't know how to decorate bikes they say?? We will see about that!)
This week was straight up "It Takes Two"... MY FAVORITE MOVIE! We had exchanges out in the booonnss. Man I've missed my country land. ahhhhh I couldn't stop jumping up and down and yelling and listening to the most country music Motabs got (please put in a request to Brodster- THEY NEED MORE COUNTRY!) Hna. Mayne and our mini missionary Hna. Hernandez thought I was NUTSO. I got so excited seeing fields and actual live cows not just the huge statues that are on top of Papa's BBQ here in the city that I'm determined to get on top one day! It was such a B E A U T I F U L DRIVE! And to my surprise I felt just like it takes two! I felt like I was just dropped off at some foreign summer camp with all the foster kids. Because we did service at this place called Lunches of Love. They blobbed a hair net on me, gave me some gloves and they all yelled, "LAY OUT THE BREAD!" I got to make lunches with all these foster kids! They were hilarious and they all hate school and hate studying and hate summer school... we all became pretty good friends!
Also, this week... we have this investigator Rosa.... oh rosa.... what to say about Rosa. For some reason she reminds me of Marge Nydegger how ever you spell that. We've been trying to serve her mom. So we walk in and there was a big pile of dishes so I'm like, "Rosa can we do your dishes??" "CLAROOOOOO" little did I know MAGGOTS EVERYWHERE. SOOO SCARY. I WASN'T SURE IF WE'D MAKE IT OUT ALIVE! I pick up the sponge to start wiping things down and MAGGOTS START CRAWLING OUT OF THE SPONGE. EWWW. Makes me sick thinking about it! Worst part is we were drinking out of those cups we were cleaning! uhh nightmare but we almost made it out alive.
We were a threesome again this week. Hna. Hernandez was so stinkin cute! She's going to be a senior and she is still deciding to go on a mission. I WAS DETERMINED TO MAKE THIS 1,084,187 TIMES BETTER THAN BEEHIVE CAMP. I didn't even make her call me ketchup! So we made sure to make it the best, the funniest, the most exciting week ever! By the end of our little week we were all crying and she is sure she want's to go on a mission! MISSIONS ARE THEE GREATEST!
Erlin is sooo cool!!! He hasn't smoked or drank in 2 weeks! He works every day with a member in our ward and has become great friends with him. He accepts everything so fast. He's like I know with all my heart that I already learned this somewhere. YOU DID. YOU ALREADY ACCEPTED IT IN HEAVEN! He's obsessed with everything we teach. The law of chastity he's like, "wow not any other church is teaching this anymore. THIS IS SO TRUE!" He's also obsessed with preach my gospel. He keeps asking us for his own copy. It's been so easy to teach him. He called us the other morning and was sooo sad, "Hermanas, I'm here at work and I told this guy I was getting baptized and he told me that in the mormon church I will be baptized in the name of Joseph Smith. Why didn't you tell me that??" He was so so sad and happy to hear that wasn't true! He should be getting baptized this saturday if thats god's will. It has been sooo cool to see how much the savior knows each and every one of us. The atonement changes us! I thought it was going to be so hard to make Erlin stop smoking with all his friends being little nuggets but then I remembered, Hermana Wagstaff this isn't you that is stopping him from smoking it's the Savior so of course it won't be hard! We literally did nothing just supported him and the Lord has done EVERYTHING. It's been the most incredible thing to stand on the sideline and watch my Savior work magic in these people lives.
GOD IS GOOD, PEOPLE ARE FUN, AND TEXAS IS CRAZY
